it all started with a cup of coffee...

Today i want to write about Egypt.. well not specifically Egypt but more what has been happening in Egypt and across the entire world. From wars to floods, earthquakes, fires, tsunami's, viral pandemics to incredibly wide spread poverty.

As i woke up this morning i started thinking of what i had to do today, what errands needed running what i would eat for the day, what i would wear, but as i was having my coffee i started to feel a need to read up on Egypt, The more i read the more i felt lead to pray, to pray hard not only for Egypt but the people of the world. If you look back as far as last January even, to Haiti and the massive earthquake for me it all kind of started with that, but in 2010 there were numerous massive historical events taking place, in many countries, the Hatians had the earthquake, Pakistan, Austrailia, iran, china, and most of eastern Americas had flooding, some places devastating, and the effect i think we are all feeling the most is the financial problems.

Clearly something is happening in the world. If you read back in the bible there are stories like this. Stories of nation raising against nation, floods and fires, nations raising against their leaders. I fail to see how this is much different from the present. If we were to see things through the eyes of Jesus, If we could open our eyes we would see that these things happening in the world are not just political problems but wars of the heavenly realms.

Christianity in the world today is not only frowned upon but in most places forbidden and in most schools and work places illegal. why do you think that is? because people don't like confrontation? I think it because the enemy has a very strong hold on this world, and is working hard to shut down any one who expresses faith in God. I think the real reason for the avoidance of allowing Christianity is based on fear. Fear of the sheer unstoppable power of God. Fear that if we (Christians) are not suppressed and distracted, we will realize the full potential of the power of God within us. God didn't make a mistake in putting you where you are today, he put you where you are for a purpose. He placed us all in various parts of the world, and if we could just open our eyes and ears to what has been really going on. join in prayer to fight back. think of the power of God that would be released from that.

Today I pray that the holy spirit would begin to open your eyes, ears and hearts, to see that what has been happening is not of this world but a spiritual war. That we would not be so distracted by our everyday lives and routines and as children of God would put on the spiritual armor of God and band together to fight and stand against the enemy like one massive web of faith spreading to every point of the earth.
